Doug washed and waxed my truck last night. just because. I guess he must love me a little.
I decided to do a rework of an old and much loved design for the next layout here. it was supposed to be quick and easy, seeing as all the graphic work was already done...WRONG.
holy mother of god, was THAT a pain in the ass. but it's finally done (3 weeks later) so enjoy Flowers of Tomorrow. and if you don't like it, then I am giving you permission to lie. just tell me how fabulous it is, because getting it coded was nothing but one large headache. LOL
Linus is in the habit of waking up around 3am, playful and rearing to go. he'll jump up on the bed with a little "meow?" and get in the window, or even run around the house happily talking to himself.
saturday morning was no exception...but he never STOPPED. just walking around the house, constantly talking. he even went so far as to scratch at EVERYTHING...the blanket I had covering me, Doug's boots, the couch cushions...urgh! CAT, WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?
I tried everything I could think of...checked his food, checked boots and blankets and cushions for hidden toys...NOTHING was calming that cat down.
and then...oh, yes, and then...he jumped up on me and gave me the most unique and disturbing experience of my life...my reaction was pretty much "Doug...get in here...NOW!!!!"
...and he was there in three seconds flat...
I shit you not...I had the following surreal conversation with a lady at work:
her: "so...Hillary is a democrat?"
me: "yup."
her: "and Osama is a republican?"
me: *blink, blink looooong pause* "wow...you don't watch the news much, do you?"
I mean...good mother of god. seriously? I encourage people to vote...but in this case? I would be much more comfortable if this lady did.not.vote. PLEASE.
how can you be a 40ish year old "independant" woman and be THAT CLUELESS? how does this happen?
one of my favorite songs by Tim McGraw. it will make me cry every damn time, and that's just on the radio. seeing it put to video makes my heart hurt.
I know, I know. I've been designing schtuff and things for this website like CRAZY. but I think I might be done for a while...maybe.
last week I finished Flowers of Tomorrow as a "prep" layout for this one. which was a damn good idea, seeing as the re-coding was a bear. this new layout I am presenting to you (sounds so freaking official) was also a challenge, because I used "png"s (an image format) for the first time. did you know that IE6 doesn't render "png"s correctly? *gasp* now there's a shocker.
but Lizzie likes a challenge, so it was kinda fun figuring out how to fix it.
anyhoo. hopefully you likey "The Photographer". it was a blast to design.
